Now you can add the name Jesse Thielke to the list. The Wisconsin native got it done for Team USA today with a 17-8 technical fall over Islamov of Moldova in the semi's of the final Olympic Games qualifier in Turkey.
At 98kg Joe Rau won his first bout by tech over Rehanyan of Spain. In round two he was teched quickly 8-0 by Castillo of Honduras, eliminating Rau from qualifying for Rio.
Ravaughn Perkins was looking strong at 66kg before falling to Tsarev of Kyrgyzstan. In the 2nd period, Perkins held a 3-3 criteria advantage before giving up a passivity point to fall 4-3 late in the bout. A win in the quarters for Ravaughn would have put Perkins in the match to qualify for Rio.
