The Program: Kyle Dake and Cornell Pt. 1 - The Haves and The Have-Nots
Rob Koll knows about the haves and have-nots in the sport of collegiate wrestling. He says that when he started coaching, he was definitely in the formerly mentioned group. Koll had to work hard through the years to produce what is now a national powerhouse wrestling program. In the series premier, episode 1 of The Program on Dake and the Big Red, go behind-the-scenes with Koll, Kyle Dake and the Big Red as they operate inside and out of the wrestling room. Watch as the team scraps in the wrestling room and later takes to classroom to show of their telemarketing skills at the phone-a-thon!The Program Pt 2: Kyle Dake - GOAT
Is Kyle Dake the greatest collegiate wrestler of all-time? Follow Dake through his senior season as he prepares to make a run at his fourth consecutive NCAA title at four different weights. Dake also opens up about his mindset when he first stepped foot on Cornell's campus, and why he is so confident in his abilities. The Program - Dake Reveals How He Beats Taylor
There has never been a more heated rivalry in NCAA wrestling history than that between Kyle Dake and David Taylor. Dake came into this season a 3x NCAA Champion, one of the greatest college wrestlers of all time. Taylor came in an undefeated national champion and the 2012 Hodge Trophy Winner. After two razor-thin decisions, Dake sits at 2-0 vs. David Taylor. He knows this isn't enough. Everything comes down to NCAA's. In this episode, watch as Dake breaks down how he beat Taylor at the Southern Scuffle and discusses what opportunities he needs to take advantage of to do it again when it matters most: the NCAA Finals in Des Moines, IA.Cornell: The Life of Nahshon Garrett
For Nahshon Garrett, It's been a life filled with highs and lows...and for most of it: more lows than highs. Growing up, Nahshon had been the product of an unstable family environment; he used wrestling as a way to cope with the stress and day-to-day instability caused by those raising him. In episode one of 'Cornell', we see that while personal struggles still afflict Nahshon, nothing can destroy his will to be successful. Nahshon Garrett is one of the most determined athletes in the the country and he shows that every time he steps on the wrestling mat.Cornell: Being A Giant Killer Wasn't Enough For Gabe Dean
If you just started following Gabe Dean within the last year, then you probably expect that the 184lber has always been an absolute stud on the mat. Not the case! The Cornell star tells us of a wrestling career filled with plenty of ups and down and is very candid about his not planning on wrestling in college at all (he originally wanted to play football). Gabe did end up wrestling in college though (obviously), but it wasn't exactly smooth sailing from the get-go; in fact, he went 0-2 in his first collegiate tournament. But things change for a man who's willing to outwork his competition. And as it stands right now, the returning All American, the man who took down Ed Ruth (!!!!), Gabe Dean is currently ranked #1 in the country and the favorite to win an NCAA title as a sophomore.DAKE: The Return: (Episode One)
What's a kid to do after winning 4x NCAA titles at 4 different weight classes? In episode one of Dake: The Return, we trace back Kid Dynamite's roots from his historic college career up to the 2013 World Team Trials the place where hype started to build around Kyle Dake being the future of 74kg. Trials '13 is where in a series of a few hours, we saw the Kid beat Andrew Howe, then beat David Taylor before threatening Jordan Burroughs with what could've been his first freestyle loss on the Senior scene. And then...a "series of unfortunate events": a broken hand, a torn ligament in the food, a busted scapula. Less than a year after nearly making a 1st World Team, Dake started to slip into obscurity. Dake would miss the 2014 World Team Trials and fans would begin to sleep on him. Interest around a budding Taylor/Burroughs rivalry would arise in Dake's absence as questions around the Kid's return became one of the most discussed topics in wrestling. Little did they know that during the layoff, Kyle Dake had gotten better. A whole lot better. Take an inside look at Kid Dynamite as he prepared for what turned out to be a stunning return to Senior freestyle competition.DAKE: The Return Kyle Didn't Miss a Beat (Episode 2)
In episode two of DAKE: The Return we see Kyle Dake as he is about to compete in his first World Team Trials since 2013 after being out with multiple injuries. We get to take a behind the scenes look at him through out the tournament and see the event through the eyes of Kyle Dake himself. 74kg is a challenging weight and Kyle Dake will have a very tough road through the mini tournament if he wants to get another crack at 3x World Champion Jordan Burroughs. Standing between Kyle Dake and a rematch with Jordan Burroughs include David Taylor and Andrew Howe among others. There are more question marks around Dake than anyone else in the tournament. Feel the drama and emotion of the most highly anticipated return of the 2015 World Team Trials.Popular Right Now:
