David Taylor defeated a pair of 2016 Olympic qualifiers en route to taking home the title at the Spanish Grand Prix.

Taylor opened with a 6-2 win over Iran’s Vahid Shahmohammadizad. He moved on to defeat USA World Teamer Zahid Valencia, then in his final two bouts, he defeated Mongolia’s Orgodol Uitumen 14-7 and Istvan Vereb of Hungary 8-6 to win the title at 86kg.

Taylor’s great championship run in Spain makes him our FloWrestler of the Week.

Other FloWrestler of the Week Nominees:

James Green: Won gold at the Spanish Grand Prix. He collected two decisions and a technical fall to with the 70kg title.



Becka Leathers: Recorded a pair of pins in her first two matches to make the finals of the Spanish Grand Prix before she was downed 10-0 in the finals to bring home the silver medal.



Victoria Anthony: Won bronze at 48kg at the Spanish Grand Prix. Anthony dominated the field with her only loss coming in the semifinals when he lost 2-2 on criteria.
