Yesterday in Colorado Springs, Bruce Baumgartner was elected President of USA Wrestling. This position was previously held by Jim Ravanack.
USA Wrestling sent out the following tweet from the Board of Directors meeting.
According to this tweet from USA Wrestling's Richard Immel, Bruce was a unanimous choice.
Baumgartner is a living legend of USA Wrestling. All told Bruce won two Olympic Gold medals at 130kg as well as three World Championships. He tacked on another two Olympic medals as well as 6 other World medals. All told he won 13 World/Olympic medals between 1983 and 1996.
He is also the current Athletic Director at Edinboro University and has been instrumental in building Edinboro into a National power both as a coach and an administrator.
