Two In Finals, Two For Bronze In Day 1 Of Men's Freestyle

Team USA had a strong start to men's freestyle, with 4 out of the possible 5 wrestlers competing for medals. Kurt McHenry and Vitali Arujau will be wrestling for gold, while David Carr and Jacob Warner will wrestle for bronze. Finals will begin at 9 AM CT! Watch every match live on FloWrestling.
The American squad finds itself in the middle of a tight team race. USA is currently in 2nd place, just 1 point behind Iran.

At 42kg, Kurt McHenry has possibly been spectacular. Using incredible technique and skill en route to a finals berth. He dominated his Russian opponent in the semi's 11-0. McHenry used shucks, ducks and other attacks to put a huge number of points on the board in his worlds debut.

At 50kg Aaron Cashman earned an impressive round 1 victory before falling in his next bout, then losing in repechage to go 1-2 on the day.
Cashman's single was working in round 1:
Vitali Arujau punched his way to the finals with 10-0, 9-6 and 10-0 victories. He will face Iran in the finals.

At 69kg David Carr looked outstanding before dropping a tough 8-8 semifinal. In the closing moments of the bout, the criteria underline on the scoreboard switched from under Carr's name to under his opponents name. It's possible this confusion altered Carr's late match tactics.
Carr looks smooth against Belarus:
Jacob Warner had a strong start and rebounded after a quarterfinal loss to India. In his quarter he had a 3-0 lead after the first, but appeared to fade in the second and ultimately lost 4-4.
Warner handles Uzbekistan:
