Trent Hillger Verbals To Wisconsin
Trent Hillger, a two-time Michigan state champ for Lake Fenton, has verbally committed to wrestle for the University of Wisconsin
The highest-ranked high school heavyweights often end up playing football in college instead of wrestling. Trent Hillger is not one of those heavyweights, and has given a verbal commitment to wrestle for the University of Wisconsin.
The two-time Michigan state champion is currently ranked fourth at 285 pounds and is the 25th overall senior on the class of 2017 Big Board. He has been undefeated the past two years for Lake Fenton and is the heir apparent to Connor Medbery for the Badgers.
Hillger is the second top-100 guy to verbally commit to wrestle in Madison, WI, joining No. 68 Paul Konrath. Wisconsin has also received verbals from two of the top in-state seniors, Devin Bahr (No. 14 at 145) and Jackson Hemauer (No. 12 at 170). All the class of 2017 commitments can be found here.
Hillger defeats Fargo Greco finalist Carter Isley at junior duals.
I'm excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and wrestling career at the University of Wisconsin! Go Badgers! pic.twitter.com/IofCGQSbAh
