Clubs Cup Rosters Announced
The rosters for the Freestyle and Greco-Roman Clubs Cup have been announced
The Freestyle and Greco-Roman Clubs Cup represent a unique opportunity to compete for their club in a dual meet format. This is the third straight year Titan Mercury Wrestling Club will be sending a team to compete, but for the first time America has a Greco squad represented.
Both of the first two Freestyle Clubs Cups ended the same way, with Titan Mercury losing to a loaded Bimeh Razi team from Iran in the finals. This time around, however, they will be featuring an Olympic champ who once was on the Bimeh Razi squad that beat them. Vladimir Khinchegashvili (GEO) will be wrestling at 61kg for TMWC, along with fellow Olympic champ Kyle Snyder at 97kg.
NCAA champs Nico Megaludis, Alex Dieringer, David Taylor and Nick Gwiazdowski are also featured on the roster. Gwiazdowski is switching over from the New York Athletic Club as he continues to train in Raleigh with the Wolfpack Wrestling Club. Megaludis and Taylor are surprise additions and could signal a partnership between TMWC and the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. BJ Futrell and Nazar Kulchytskyy both recently competed at the Bill Farrell for TMWC.
The freestyle competition will be in Kharkov, Ukraine, on November 30th and December 1st. Financial rewards for the top three clubs are $25,000 for first, $15,000 for second and $10,000 for third. The complete roster can be found below.
