Gallagher-Iba Attendance Record In Sight For PSU Dual
The biggest and baddest dual of the year is coming, and the hosting Cowboys will be looking to break the attendance record at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Live This Week: Feb. 16 - Northern Colorado at Air Force | Feb. 17 - Purdue at SDSU | Feb. 17/18 - New England Prep Championships | Feb. 18 - Iowa at Edinboro | North Dakota St at South Dakota St | #2 Penn State at #1 Oklahoma State
The biggest and baddest dual of the year is coming to Gallagher-Iba Arena on Sunday, and the Oklahoma State wrestling team is looking to break the all-time attendance record at "the Rowdiest Arena in the Country."
Currently, the Cowboys men's basketball team holds the attendance record at GIA with 13,611. The wrestling team feels that since the arena is named after former wrestling coach Ed Gallagher, who coached Oklahoma State from 1916-1940, that it's only right that the No. 1 Cowboys put that record to shame with No. 2 Penn State coming to town. On February 18, 2001, 10,802 fans were in attendance for a meet, which is the highest attendance recorded for an Oklahoma State wrestling match. So not only are they looking to break the basketball team's record but also their own as they take on the high-powered Nittany Lions.

And in case that's not enough to convince you that you need to make it GIA for this epic throwdown, listen to Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy, who is extremely excited for this weekend dual.
