Can Cornell Win 11th Straight EIWA Tournament Title?
Is this the year that Cornell's streak comes to an end? Heading into this weekend's EIWA tournament in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Lehigh has wrestlers ranked higher in six of the 10 weight classes.

From 2002 to 2006, Lehigh ruled the EIWA Conference with five straight team titles. The following year, Cornell took over the top spot and hasn't looked back, rattling off nine consecutive tournament wins and relegating its rival to second place six times in that span.
After back-to-back runner-up finishes for Lehigh, could this be the year the Mountain Hawks (or any other team) take over the conference and stop the Big Red's streak at ten? Heading into this weekend's EIWA tournament in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, Lehigh has wrestlers ranked higher in six of the 10 weight classes. But as we know, outcomes of matches aren't determined on paper.
Like always, bonus points will be a major key at Bucknell's Sojka Pavilion on Friday and Saturday. Top-ranked Cornell senior and two-time NCAA champion Gabe Dean, who's been manning the 184-pound weight class for the last three years and is on track to become a four-time EIWA champ, has been a bonus-point machine all year, so you know you'll get your fair share from him. Along with Dean, multiple-time All-American Brian Realbuto is also a favorite for Cornell at 174.
With Dylan Palacio back in the lineup and down to weight at 157, Cornell definitely has the pieces to stay on track with its championship-winning ways, but the Big Red will need some help to come out on top for the 11th time.
Outside of these top two teams are a number of contenders that could also disrupt Cornell's chances of grabbing another team title. At 141 it won't just be Lehigh's No. 16 Randy Cruz in the hunt for another EIWA crown, but he will also have to go through No. 4 Matt Kolodzik of Princeton. Lehigh's Laike Gardner comes in as the highest-ranked wrestler in the conference at No. 10, but No. 13 Matt Cimato of Drexel is looking to disrupt things. Eleventh-ranked Tom Sleigh of Bucknell is the highest-ranked guy in the conference at 197.
Cornell has a tall task ahead of it this year, so I'll pose the question again: Is this the year that the Big Red's streak comes to an end?
