NCAA Championships Brackets
Penn State head coach Cael Sanderson addressed the health of No. 2-ranked Nick Suriano at a press conference on Monday, saying the freshman is "wrestling right now" and that "he's progressing along, and it's looking good" ahead of this week's NCAA Championships in St. Louis.
Suriano suffered a left ankle sprain in the Nittany Lions' final dual meet of the season against Oklahoma State on Feb. 19 and defaulted out of the Big Ten Championships on March 4 due to the injury. When asked directly if Suriano would be active at the NCAA tournament from Thursday to Saturday, Sanderson said, "Yeah, he's in. He's in."
Time will tell how close Suriano is to 100 percent after he received the No. 3 seed in this weekend's NCAA tournament. However, Sanderson seems happy with the overall health of the Nittany Lions squad going into the most important part of the season.
