6) The Backside:
Here are just a few of the potential backside matches we could see today. Check out consolation brackets here.
Pat Downey vs. Gabe Dean
Chance Marsteller vs. Anthony Valencia
Zain Retherford vs. Jimmy Kennedy
Jason Nolf vs. Jason Welch
Alex Dieringer vs. Chris Perry
5) World Teams Will Be Set:
Watch Helen Maroulis, Victoria Anthony, Ben Provisor RaVaughn Perkins, and other stars vie for spots on the world team. Maroulis and Anthony are fan favorites because of their athleticism and slickness (Also, Helen beat the GOAT at the Olympics). The Greco Roman weights up for grabs could be incredibly unpredictable, with some of the major favorites having made teams on Friday.
4) The Best Young Wrestlers In The Country
Watch Mark Hall, Alex Marinelli, Daton Fix, and Yianni Diakomihalis wrestle in the semis and finals today. Check out the Junior Freestyle results as well as brackets here. Tune in this afternoon to watch these young bucks do battle. Here are the Junior Freestyle semi matchups and archived matches.
US OPEN FINALS MATCHUPS
3) Tony Ramos vs. Nahshon Garrett
These two had one of the most insane matches in the Olympic Trials last year. It's been a year, and now it's rematch time.
2) Frank Molinaro vs. Jordan Oliver
There is history here, and it favors Jordan Oliver. JO won the most controversial match of the day on Friday when he downed Penn State's Zain Retherford. Now, Oliver will look to add a U.S. Open title over Molinaro, who had a soul-stealing double Friday against Jimmy Kennedy.
1) Jordan Burroughs vs. Kyle Dake
The question has been posed: Is it Kyle Dake's time? Some believe yes; others believe no. What is almost universally accepted is that either result is plausible. Jordan Burroughs is the most popular wrestler in the world (by far), and he could lose tonight. Is this the most anticipated U.S. Open final since... since... ? It's 4-0 for Burroughs, but the chatter (and that's all it is at this point) supporting Dake has never been louder.
