5 U.S. Open Matches You Need To See
The 2017 U.S. Open provided enough worthy matches to take up the next few weeks of your time. But just in case you don't have enough vacation days banked, we've picked five of our favorite matches to share from this incredible weekend of USA wrestling.

Senior Women's Freestyle 53kg Finals Round 1
Haley Augello defeats Whitney Conder 8-7

Augello bumped up from 48kg, the weight she wrestled in Rio, and made her second consecutive senior team. But the tenacious veteran Whitney Conder did not go down easy, as the first match of this best of two finals was a slugfest for the ages.

Junior Men's Freestyle 60kg Final
Mitchell McKee defeats Vitali Arujau 13-10

Arujau graduated from the cadets to the juniors with high expectations and did not disappoint, making the finals of his first junior freestyle Open. NCAA qualifier for Minnesota Golden Gophers Mitch McKee proved to be too much however, and took out the talented young Arujau in a wild back and forth finals match.

Senior Men's Freestyle 61kg First Round
Joe Colon defeats Joey Lazor 17-14

The scoreboard got a workout when former Northern Iowa Panther teammates faced off in a first round bout at 61kg. The lead changed hands too many times to count, as Colon edged out Lazor after the two wrestlers threw a combined 31 points on the board.

Senior Greco-Roman 75kg Finals Round 1
Mason Manville defeats Kamal Bey 9-8

The future of 75kg has arrived and was on full display when Mason Manville and Kamal Bey went at it in the greco finals. Manville just barely topped Bey in an evenly matched and high scoring first round match in the best of the three series. Manville went on two win the second as well and claim the starting spot vacated by the legendary Andy Bisek.

Senior Men's Freestyle 65kg Final
Jordan Oliver defeats Frank Molinaro 4-4

Jordan Oliver, in one of the most anticipated matches in a stake finals line up, got the job done when it counted, beating the 2016 Olympican Frank Molinaro in the finals after running the gauntlet through one of the deepest and most challenging brackets in the tournament. Oliver also earned a coveted bye to the 65kg finals of the team trials going down in Lincoln, Nebraska later this June.

These five matches will get you started, but we've just barely scratched the surface of the cornucopia of incredible matches available online. Check them out on our results page or on FLOARENA and enjoy!
