2X All-American Joe Smith To Redshirt
Two-time All-American Joseph Smith will redshirt this year for Oklahoma State.
In a move that will change the 157-pound landscape, Oklahoma State two-time All-American Joe Smith will take a redshirt year this season, as reported by The Open Mat.
Smith placed seventh as a true freshman in 2016 and then climbed a few podium steps higher to finish fourth last March in St. Louis.

Redshirt junior Jonce Blaylock will look to step into the lineup at 157 for OSU. The typically stacked Cowboys also have two All-American-caliber wrestlers at 149 in Geo Martinez and Boo Lewallan, one of whom may also challenge for the 157 starting spot.

It will be tough to replace Smith's production in the NCAA tournament, but Oklahoma State should still be in the running for a team trophy in Cleveland. The Cowboys are currently ranked fourth (with Smith still ranked sixth at 157), in the FloWrestling preseason rankings.
