Long before they were starring at the college level, some of this year's NCAA tournament contenders were vying for spots on youth wrestling's most coveted podium.

Stanford, R-JR (NCAA 133lb) - Joey McKenna — 52lb runner-up in 2004
Ohio State, JR (NCAA #4 at 141lb) - Ronnie Bresser — 43lb champ in 2004
Oregon State, R-JR (NCAA #9 at 125lb) - Sean Russell — 46lb champ in 2004
Edinboro, R-JR (NCAA #11 at 125lb) - Isaiah Martinez — 61lb runner-up in 2004
Illinois, R-SR (NCAA #1 at 165lb) - Jack Mueller — 43lb runner-up in 2005
Virginia, SO (NCAA #10 at 133lb) - Anthony Valencia — 61lb champ in 2005

All of these guys will look to climb atop their respective weight classes next week in Cleveland, and some will need to go through one another to get there.
