Former EMU Wrestler Sa'Derian Perry Finds New Home At Old Dominion
Sa'Derian Perry has found a new home to complete his career.
Sa’Derian Perry was one of the biggest stories of the NCAA tournament in March when he became Eastern Michigan’s first All-American since 1999.
Then his success became a much bigger story when the school announced it was dropping its wrestling program. However, EMU’s loss has just become Old Dominion’s gain.
Perry confirmed to FloWrestling on Sunday that he will be making ODU his new home next season.
"I am grateful that I can finish out my last two years of eligibility at another school after Eastern cut the wrestling team," he said.
Other schools that he considered were Minnesota, SIUE, and Iowa.
Perry made waves early at the NCAA tournament in Cleveland when he upset #9 seed Josh Alber in the first round. He followed it up with another big win over Maryland’s Ryan Diehl, who was riding high after a fall over #8 seed Nick Lee.
