The Pennsylvania native finished this past season ranked seventh at 138 pounds and projects as a 141 or 149 at the next level. He wrestles for Pope John XXIII in New Jersey and has finished third, second, and third at the Jersey state championships.
Aragona told FloWrestling the following about his commitment:
It's like a family; it felt like the best fit for me. I grew up with a lot of the kids on the team and a lot of the kids coming into the program.
With today's commitment, coach Scott Goodale and the Rutgers staff have now locked down two of the top-30 juniors in the country. Fargo champ Rob Kanniard also gave a verbal to the Scarlet Knights back in March.
In addition to his placements at the NJSIAA state tournament, Aragona has twice placed at Super 32. He made the 106lb finals before his freshman season in 2015 and was sixth this past year at 138.
