As expected, the Black and Gold will take on many of the toughest teams in college. They begin the season with six dual meets in November and December, which includes hosting both out-of-conference powerhouse Lehigh and in-state rival Iowa State.
During the holidays, the Hawkeyes will once again make their annual pilgrimage to the prestigious Midlands, a tournament Tom Brands and company have owned the last three years.
The back half of the schedule begins mid-January with eight consecutive Big Ten dual meets, culminating in a pre-conference tournament showdown with out-of-conference NCAA blueblood Oklahoma State (Spencer Lee vs Daton Fix anyone?).
Iowa started last season slow but really turned things on when Spencer Lee and Alex Marinelli got into the lineup. They finished fourth at Big Tens before really turning things on in Cleveland, finishing third at the NCAAs, being led by true freshman 125-pound national champion Spencer Lee.
