Maybe the camp for South Dade was a little premature.

They messaged me in July that Bretli Reyna had jumped levels and was coming for the "stop sign" in Fargo. While that prediction didn't come to fruition, they weren't lying about his progress.

When the fall came, Reyna, a three-time state champ, was ranked #96 on the 2020 Big Board. But that was about to change. In his tune-up before Super 32, Reyna went to Grappler Fall Classic where he beat two other Big Boarders in Alek Martin and Henry Porter.

A week later in Greensboro, Reyna was one of the best surprise belt winners as he beat FloNats champ Joey Zargo, PA champ Ed Scott, and pound-for-pound member Josh Saunders.

Reyna then rose to #35 on the Big Board, his highest position since his sophomore year when he made NHSCA finals to get to #52. In that tournament, he beat fellow Big Boarders Zach Redding and current #10 Ryan Jack.

Now at the top of his game, more offers rolled in. He told FloWrestling Lehigh was in the final two schools but he ultimately decided to become an Iowa Hawkeye.

Reyna projects at 149/157 for the Hawkeyes who now have four of the top 55 wrestlers in the Class of 2020 and five Big Boarders overall.
