Yianni Diakomihalis Will Wrestle For Cornell Next Season
Yianni Diakomihalis confirms he will wrestle for Cornell next season and not take an Olympic redshirt.
After the postponement of the U.S. Olympic Trials and the 2020 Olympic Games, we were left with two big questions. One, could wrestlers who took an Olympic redshirt this season do so again, and two, if they were able to do so would they?
Wednesday night, speaking with Niko Tamurian of CNY Central, two-time NCAA champion Yianni Diakomihalis appeared to give us an answer to the first question and lay out his plan for next season.

2020 was his Olympic Redshirt year, but with the Olympics off until 2021 how is Yianni adjusting? What's going to happen next season for the Big Red?

Recently, Nomad put together a way too early lineup look for Cornell and with Vito Arujau, Diakomiahlis, and Max Dean returning from Olympic redshirt the Big Red have a lineup that will not only be in the hunt for a team trophy, but also a national championship. When Diakomihalis returns to college wrestling he will do so with the longest active winning streak in the country at 47.
