The road to Hershey this year will take some detours. Under the circumstances, we should be happy that 26 PIAA State Champions will be crowned on the second weekend of March in the Giant Center. So we can manage the detours.

The usual road map, depending on the classification and district, takes you through some combination of sectional, district, and regional tournaments on the way to 20 wrestlers qualifying for the state tournament in Hershey. That won’t be the case this season. The Giant Center will host the PIAA State Championships live on FloWrestling, but it will only be a field of eight athletes and a single day tournament in both the AA and AAA classifications. The AA Championships will be held on Friday, March 12th, and the AAA Championships will follow on Saturday March 13th.

The postseason is underway and you will have several chances to watch wrestlers work their way toward the Giant Center. This coming weekend FloWrestling will have live streams of several section tournaments from District III.

District III AAA section tournament I, II, III, and IV will be live Saturday February 20th. These section tournaments will qualify wrestlers for the South Central Regional the next week. The South Central Region is also the District III Championships, as the entire AAA region comprises District III.

On the AA side of District III sections I and II will be live on the 20th as well. They will qualify for the District III AA Championships the following day. You will have the opportunity to watch the District III AA Championships on Sunday, February 21st live on FloWrestling. These wrestlers will be wrestling for qualifying spots in the AA Southeast Regional Championships.

The following weekend two regional tournaments will be streamed. On the AA side the Southeast Regional Championships will be streamed on February 27th. The AA Southeast Region comprises District I and XII from Philadelphia and the Philadelphia suburbs, District III from the Harrisburg area, and District XI from the Lehigh Valley. 

The AAA South Central Regional will be live on FloWrestling on Saturday, February 27th. This is also the AAA District III Championships, as the region is made up entirely of the district. Wrestlers will be fighting for qualification spots to the AAA West Super-Region.

All four Super-Regions will be available live on FloWrestling on Saturday, March 6th. There is an East and West Super-Region on both the AA and AAA sides that will create the field for Hershey. Four qualifiers from each super-region will qualify to make the eight-man field at the Giant Center. 

The AAA East Super-Region will have qualifiers from the Northeast and Southeast AAA Regions. This will include wrestlers from Districts I, II, XI, and XII.

The AAA West Super-Region will have qualifiers from the Northwest, South Central and Southwest AAA Regions. This will include wrestlers from Districts III, IV, XII,VII, VIII, IX, and X.

The AA East Super-Region will have qualifiers from the Northeast and Southeast AA Regions. This will include wrestlers from Districts I, II, III, IV, XI, and XII.

The AA West Super-Region will have qualifiers from the Northwest and Southwest AA Regions. This will include wrestlers from Districts V, VI, VII, IX, and X.
