Korina Blades - Savannah Gomez Rematch Going Down At Who's Number One
Can Savannah Gomez make the needed adjustments and shock the world or will Korina Blades prove once and for all that she is the top 138 lbs girl in the US?
Less than a week after claiming Junior World bronze, Korina Blades she’s good to go for Who’s Number One in September! The World medalist will be defending her #1 spot against Savannah Gomez of California.
This match will be a rematch of the 2021 Women’s Nationals semifinals that earned Blades the Cadet World Team spot. Blades won the match 9-1, but that was actually her closest match of both the Cadet and Junior levels of the tournament. Combined, she outscored her opponents 128-8 in Irving that weekend.

Korina fell short at the Cadet World Championships, losing to India in the quarterfinals. However, as previously mentioned, she rebounded tremendously and won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships. A huge accomplishment considering she was still Cadet eligible.

Gomez showed excellent poise and rebound ability this summer as well. After taking third at Women’s Nationals, she went and won a Junior Fargo title in July.
