Who's Number One 8th Grade vs Senior Showdown At 112 lbs
Who's Number One 8th Grade vs Senior Showdown At 112 lbs
Fargo champ Cecilia Williams is still in middle school, but will be wrestling for the #1 spot against senior Jenavi Alejandro at Who's Number One.
We’ll have a good ol’ fashion 8th grade vs senior showdown at 112 lbs at Who’s Number One. Jenavi Alejandro, a senior from Centennial High School in Las Vegas, Nevada, will take on Holt Lutheran School in Lansing, Michigan’s Cecilia Williams, who is an 8th grader. If Williams were to win, it would make her one of the youngest #1 ranked wrestlers regardless of weight or gender.
Don’t dismiss Williams just because she’s younger than Alejandro. As just an eighth-grader this past summer, she won Fargo at 112 lbs. In the finals, Williams knocked of fellow Who’s Number One competitor Zao Estrada who was ranked #2 at the weight.
Watch Cecilia Williams capture a Fargo title over Zao Estrada below.
Alejandro had a very impressive Fargo herself. Although she took 3rd, she only lost to Sage Mortimer and knocked off the #3, #5, and #7 ranked girls in doing so.
Watch Jenavi Alejandro beat #3 Kendra Ryan below.
So, will the experience of Alejandro help her enough to lock up the top spot at 112 lbs? Or can one of the breakout stars of Fargo, Williams, keep the momentum rolling as just a 8th grader? Find out September 17th on FloWrestling.
