AJ Ferrari Recovering From Rollover Car Accident
NCAA champion AJ Ferrari is recovering from non-fatal injuries due to a rollover car accident in Oklahoma.
AJ Ferrari and Oklahoma State Cross Country All-American Isai Rodriguez were injured last night in a rollover car accident on Highway 33 between Cushing and Perkins, Oklahoma.
According to a report from KOTV, a Tulsa-based news channel, Ferrari and Rodriguez were returning to Stillwater from a youth wrestling practice in Cushing around 8 pm when the accident occurred. "OHP Troopers say it happened after Ferrari attempted to pass three cars and hit another vehicle before running off the road and rolling over several times."
Ferrari was taken to Oklahoma City by helicopter for medical treatment of non life-threatening injuries. A Facebook post from AJ's father indicates that AJ has fluid in his lungs and some internal bleeding but that he avoided serious head injury and broken bones. According to Mr. Ferrari, "If you saw the car and AJ, you would know this was a miracle."
Rodriguez and the driver of the other vehicle involved in the accident have also reportedly avoided serious injury.
Ferrari is a critical piece of the Oklahoma State Cowboy squad. The returning NCAA champ is undefeated on the season with a 70% bonus rate and victories over All-Americans Jake Woodley and Stephen Buchanan.
