Kennedy & Korina Blades Have Made Their College Decision
Kennedy and Korina Blades, two of the biggest women's wrestling recruits in the class of 2022, have made their college decision.
The Blades sisters have been household names for years, and their eventual college home has been the source of much conversation. On Thursday, they announced that their top three programs were Iowa, Arizona State, and North Central College. Now, they've made their decision public.
The 2021 72 kg Junior World champ and 62 kg Junior World bronze medalist have decided to attend the Arizona State University and train under Mark Perry at the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club.

The Blades sisters' announcement means that the already robust women's wrestling program in Arizona will be adding two of the top prospects of the next generation. Kennedy and Korina will be joining a group that includes Olympic gold medalist Helen Maroulis, World silver medalist Kayla Miracle, and World bronze medalist Forrest Molinari.
Much of the speculation around Kennedy and Korina's decision was that the young phenoms would end up at Iowa, the first Power 5 program to add Division 1 women's wrestling. Instead, they're choosing a less conventional path in which they will attend a Power 5 school but not one with a sanctioned women's wrestling program.
Arizona State has oft been near the top of the list of programs that might add women's wrestling. Perhaps having two World medalists on campus will add momentum to that possibility. For now, we know that the Sunkist Kids Wrestling Club is pushing hard to be a premier destination for women with Olympic dreams.
