BILL FARRELL MEMORIAL INTERNATIONAL TO TAKE PLACE IN CEDAR FALLS, IOWA, APRIL 1-2
USA Wrestling announced Tuesday that it is moving the Bill Farrell Memorial International to the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls, Iowa, April 1-2, where it will be held alongside one of USA Wrestling’s biggest tournaments of the year, Folkstyle Nationals and the Boys’ National High School Recruiting Showcase.
For more than 60 years, the New York Athletic Club hosted the annual NYAC Holiday International Wrestling Championships, now known as the Bill Farrell Memorial International Open, named in honor of the late Bill Farrell, former NYAC Wrestling Chairman and 1972 Olympic coach.
The event will serve as the selection tournament for the 2022 Senior Pan American Team in Greco-Roman as well as a qualifier for the 2022 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament in men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman. In all three styles, the highest placing U.S. athlete at the event who has yet to qualify will earn a bid to the WTT Challenge Tournament.
Registration is now open for all athletes and coaches. The deadline to register without penalty is March 29. No refunds will be available for failure to compete.
Registration is $75 per style, or $65 or style with the hotel code. Late registration done after March 29 is $85 per style. All registration, including late registration, must be done online.
Receive $10 off your registration fee when you book a hotel room through USA Wrestling’s hotel booking link. Athletes must book their hotel room first and use the hotel confirmation number code for registration discount. Partial refunds will NOT be given if you register without the hotel code.
