All-American Real Woods Enters Transfer Portal

Two weeks after taking 6th place at the NCAA Championships, All-America Real Woods has entered the transfer portal.

Woods has spent the past four years at Stanford. After redshirting his freshman year, the Albuquerque, New Mexico, native has spent the last three as the starter for the Cardinal. This isn't the first time Woods has entered the transfer portal. In 2020, 48 hours after Stanford announced they would be cutting the wrestling program, Woods entered the portal. Ultimately, he clearly chose to come back to Stanford.

Listed as a graduate transfer and under "do not contact", Woods could once again make the decision to return to Stanford.

As a freshman for Stanford Woods went 19-1, won the Southern Scuffle + Pac 12 Championships, and earned the three seed at the NCAA Championships before they were canceled. This year Woods once again entered the national tournament with just one loss, a Southern Scuffle and Pac 12 title before finishing in sixth place.

It is unclear where Woods will go at this time although it has been heavily rumored that Penn State could be a potential landing spot.

While there has been plenty of activity in the transfer portal so far this off-season, Woods is the biggest name to go in yet. You can check out the rest of the names in the transfer portal HERE.
