After a national championship season, Penn State fans can continue to celebrate. Starting 133 pounder Roman Bravo-Young is using his extra year of eligibility and returning for a fifth year. The two-time individual national champion announced his decision via social media Monday afternoon.
When I came to Penn State, a young kid from Tucson, AZ who could have imagined that I would become a 2x National Champion, 4x All-American, and earn a degree from one of the most prestigious schools. I’m living my dream everyday. Why would I not try to run it back one more time! pic.twitter.com/A7yV4ZgYKk

Bravo-Young has been a staple at the 133 lbs spot for the Nittany Lions for the past four seasons. After taking 8th at NCAAs as a freshman and earning the five-seed in 2020, RBY has put together two undefeated national championship seasons. Both seasons the champ has met Oklahoma State’s Daton Fix in the NCAA finals. With two years of eligibility remaining, it is expected that Fix will be back at 133 lbs next season as well.
