#28 Michael Dellagatta Adds To Strong Cornell Recruiting Class
New Jersey Junior Michael Dellagatta has committed to Cornell, adding to their strong 2023 recruiting class.
Michael Dellagatta, the #28 ranked wrestler in the class of 2023, has decided to join a Cornell recruiting class that now includes three of the nation's top 50 prospects. He announced his decision on Twitter.
Thrilled to announce i’m committed to Cornell University. I thank everyone who has helped me accomplish what i’ve wanted and get to this point. Everything I have up until this point is thanks to God! #FirstTweet #committed #gobigred pic.twitter.com/VBTWdhvE6Y

Dellegatta had a productive junior season with a third-place finish at the tough, single-class New Jersey state championships, a finals appearance at Escape the Rock, and a 5th place Powerade finish at 170 lbs which was one of the toughest brackets in the country this season. Dellagata's victory over #3 Rocco Welsh at Powerade further cemented him as one of the nation's top prospects.

Dellagatta's commitment is the second massive pickup for the Big Red this spring as Cadet World Champ Meyer Shapiro committed in April. Dellagatta and Shapiro join #48 Simon Ruiz in a Cornell class that's shaping up to be quite strong.
Dellagatta projects as a 174/184-pounder at the next level, a weight range that has produced ten All-Americans for Cornell since 2010.
