#3 In Class Of 2024, Mason Gibson, Commits
The Pennsylvania native will be following his brother to Ithaca, New York.
Today was the first day for coaches to contact athletes in the class of 2024, and it didn't even take 24 hours for a huge domino to fall. #3 overall in the class of 2024, Mason Gibson, has announced he will is verbally committed to Cornell.
I’m excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Cornell University where I will be furthering my academic and wrestling careers. I want to thank everybody who has helped me along the way to get to this point in my life. This couldn’t be possible with out you!@MrPatMineo pic.twitter.com/1AszUEvosE

This shouldn't come as too much of a surprise to those familiar with the Gibson family. Mason's older brother, Erik, is headed to Ithaca in the fall.
A native of Pennsylvania, Gibson is a 5X PJW State champ. He burst onto the national scene when he won 2019 Super 32 in 8th grade. Since then he has added Powerade and NHSCA titles as well as made the finals of Fargo and the Pennsylvania high school state tournament.
There's still a lot of time to grow for Gibson, but he could slide in nicely at 133 lbs for the Big Red.
Watch Mason Gibson win a Powerade title over Mac Church below.
While Gibson is the first wrestler to commit since coaches have been allowed to contact the class of 2024, he is the 4th from the class to commit. You can see the full list HERE.
