2022 Is On Pace To Be The Biggest Fargo Ever

We won't have final numbers until the brackets are built and the final whistles have blown, but this year's edition of USA Wrestling's 16U and Junior National Championships are on pace to be the biggest in history.

We'll be able to properly assess the gargantuousness of 2022's Fargo when the dust settles in the FargoDome a couple of weeks from now, but before then we can look at the number of entries we currently have a few days out and safely say that participation records will be shattered.

For an idea of how many wrestlers that entails, below is a graph of the entries that set participation records at last year's National Championships.

More on those numbers can be found in this award-winning article

We won't jump the gun with specific numbers until after the event, but we are currently tracking for a 10-to-20% bump in numbers. Let it be said: this year's Fargo is going to be YUGE.

For a rough estimate of how those participation numbers will break down across the age divisions and wrestling styles, please consult the table below and read each column for the percentage of registered wrestling in each style among the two age divisions.

The darker the red, the greater the entries. So expect to see a lot of Illinois, Ohio and California wrestlers in North Dakota! Also still hoping to see entries from New Hampshire, Vermont and Mississippi!
