Entry fee of $20 per wrestler. If paying by check, please pay to: GRISWOLD HIGH SCHOOL. Again, due to difficulty collecting from some schools—payment is REQUIRED on or before the day of the tourney. It will be your job as coach to get reimbursed by your school. We will gladly furnish you a receipt.
Please note later start time due to CIAC Sunday competition requirements.
All HS girls who are part of their school team from CT, MA & RI are welcome to attend--spread the word! However, registration will be limited to 240 girls. The following link may be used for Flo registration:--coming soon
School Opens: 9:45AM
Weight Check: 10:00AM—10:15AM
Weigh Ins: 10:15AM to 10:45AM by team (should only take 20-30 min.—please don’t bother arriving after 10:45AM)
Coaches Meeting: 11:00AM--11:30AM. Seeding criteria based on prior year’s finish at recognized state association championships (multiple wrestlers from same school will be placed on opposite side of brackets when possible)
Wrestling will begin as close to 12PM as possible (this is the earliest permitted start time on Sunday) on 3-4 mats, and we expect to be done around 7pm—please note that Monday is a holiday. We will use FloWrestling computerized scoring.
There will be 12 weight classes, each with a 2 pound January allowance from what is listed here:
100 lbs., 107 lbs., 114 lbs., 120 lbs., 126 lbs., 132 lbs., 138 lbs., 145 lbs., 152 lbs., 165 lbs., 185 lbs., 235 lbs.
Medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each weight, although we will wrestle for 5th place.
Wrestling will continue on 3-4 mats straight through the finals, with limited breaks only at the request of the officials. Each wrestler will get at least 2 matches.
Admission will be charged to fans. Plenty of bleacher space and hot showers, but locker facilities are limited. Limited food concession (pizza, snacks, drinks).

Griswold High is located less than one mile off exit 85 from I-395.
Please note that this is a CIAC sanctioned event. Participants from MA and RI should check with their state associations regarding eligibility and limitations. For CT, as not considered a varsity competition, results do NOT count toward CT state seeding. This event does NOT count toward your CT team’s weekly or seasonal limitations. However, it DOES count toward each individual athlete's weekly limit, and therefore this can't be their 3rd competition of the week. In addition, CT athletes can’t compete/practice 7 consecutive days, so a “day off” during subsequent week would be required.
