Low Country JV/MS Area 9 QualifierCoaches,
The following information concerns all Area qualifiers for the Carolina Invitational (except for Area 7).  The format of the tournament is full double elimination using 16 man brackets and placing six wrestlers who will advance on to the Sectional tournament.  Tournament Directors will have the option of splitting weight classes based on the size of the bracket.  If a weight is split, the top 3 finishers from each bracket will move on to the Sectional tournament.
The weight classes for these events are as follows:

• JV – 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285
• MS – 80, 88, 96, 102, 108, 114, 120, 126, 135, 145, 158, 175, 205, 285

*** 2 pound weight allowance applies after January 1.  (e.g. 80 will be 82, 88 will be 90, etc)
 
All registration for this event will be handled through an online registration.  Registrations will need to be completed by midnight on the Wednesday prior to the event.  Scratches and changes after registration is closed will need to be emailed to the tournament director Ron Lanham (ronald.lanham@beaufort.k12.sc.us) and Todd Polly (wrestlingislife1@att.net).  Cutoff for these scratches will be Friday at noon (Thursday at 9:00 pm for those doing JV on Friday for JV scratches).

• Keep in mind that a Varsity wrestler is only allowed 16 dates.  There should be no Varsity level wrestlers competing in the qualifying tournament regardless of grade.
• MS and JV wrestlers are considered different teams.
• Once the Brackets are drawn and numbered, you are responsible for payment of any wrestler you registered that is in the numbered brackets.  So, do not wait until weigh-ins to scratch your wrestler.

Tournament Info:  Weigh-In Time:  7:00 – 8:00am

• Start Time:  8:30am
• Entry fee: $10 per wrestler
• Checks payable to:  Big Green Booster Club

All ticket sales will be done online and a link will be posted on our athletic website at www.beauforthigheagles.com the week of the tournament for your fans. NO CASH will be accepted at the ticket booth for the tournament. We utilize a CLEAR BAG POLICY at Beaufort High School for all athletic events. There will be a hospitality room for coaches, officials and tournament workers. Coaches, please limit your coaching staff to 3 coaches for use of this room. There will also be concessions available for fans/spectators.
