DATE: November 12, 2008 TO: Middle School Athletic Directors& Wrestling Coaches FROM: Tom Curran, Athletic Director Tomah Middle School RE: Tomah MS Wrestling Invitational DATE: Saturday, November 15, 2008 TIME: 8:00 - Weigh-Ins in Wrestling Loft (Hair, Skin, and Nails Checked too!) 8:30 - Coaches` Meeting/Bracket Set-up via trackwrestling (Library)8:45 - Deadline for coaches to amke changes 9:30 - Wrestling Begins PLACE: Tomah High School Gymnasium REMINDER: 6th-8th Grade Wrestlers ONLY!! Legal Singlets ONLY! – no freestyle singlets School Teams ONLY! – no club teams/individuals can participate ENTRY FEE: $90.00 payable to `Tomah Middle School` Please mail in advance. HYGIENE CHECK/WEIGH-INS: There will be a hygiene check for all wrestlers. This will include nails, skin and hair length check. Weigh ins will also be conducted again this year. We will weigh in by teams and coaches are to have their cards completely filled out except the weight. Have the wrestlers line up to weigh in in the same order you have the cards. The officials will then write the kids weight on the card and on their hand. STUDENT SUPERVISION: In the past there has been significant vandalism throughout the day in the locker rooms and other parts of the building. Coaches we expect you to have your students behaving in an appropriate manner. Schools not properly supervising their athletes will not be invited back next year. FORMAT: 8-man brackets Progressive by weight We will wrestleback for 1st, 3rd, 5th AND 7th MATS: 3 mats will be used MATCHES: All matches will be 1-1-1 TEAM POINTS: 1st = 10 5th = 4 2nd = 8 6th = 2 3rd = 7 7th = 1 4th = 5 Top 14 wrestlers are scored. AWARDS: Individual Medals - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Team Trophy/Plaque - 1st, 2nd CONCESSIONS: Will be available in the cafeteria. Please no food or beverage in the gym.
