January 8, 2013 To: All participating wrestling coaches and athletic directors: With the holidays behind us, I wanted to get you the information on the NIB 12 Conference Tournament. We hope the information in this packet will answer all your questions. There are a couple of procedures to follow, so please feel free to ask questions. We will try to answer them as fast as we can. Please note that you will receive an email on how to enter your team online. You will be able to make changes until noon on January 16, 2013. Please call me if you are having trouble and I will walk you through the process. The seeding meeting will be on Thursday, January 17 at 7:00 pm. We will serve pizza and beverages. Please enter the school through the north doors, which are by our football field. We will be wrestling on four mats in our main gym for this tournament. Reminder, this room is for coaches, officials, media and our workers. Admission All-$5.00 Passes Passes will be handed out at weigh in. Each wrestler will receive his after he has made weight. Each team will be given four passes for coaches and two for manager. Bus drivers will be allowed in for free. Only those with passes may come on the floor. Weigh ins Weigh in will start at 7:00am, we will weigh in by team in the order you arrive. You will weigh in weight order starting with 106 and ending with 285. Teams that are late will get one step on the scale. The only weight allowance is the NFHS 2 pound growth allowance. If anyone wrestles on Friday, please contact Sycamore ASAP. (Example: 106 + 2 (NHFS Growth Allowance) = 108 Awards The champion will receive the Northern Illinois Big 12 Traveling Trophy. The top six wrestlers will receive medals. The Top 3 wrestlers will be All Conference, with the 4th place wrestler Honorable Mention All Conference. Trainer Sycamore trainers will be available all day; we ask that you supply your own medical supplies when possible. Seeding 1. Head to Head Competition 2. Record v. Common Opponent 3. Coaches Vote 4. Coin Flip Roster We ask that all entries be entered online by Noon on Wednesday, January 16. Seeding Meeting The seeding meeting will be on Thursday, January 17 at 7:00 pm. We will have pizza and soft drinks for you. This is a by-law year, so we will go over the by-law change requests, and then proceed to the seeding of the tournament. Concessions Sycamore Sports Booster will be open all day with all kinds of tasty treats. They will have breakfast type items after weigh-ins.
