****NOTICE**** Because of pending inclement weather, the finals on Saturday (1st & 2nd place) will begin 45 minutes after the end of consolation finals(3rd-4th,5th-6th). We are estimating a start time for the finals at 6:00 pm. This is an hour earlier than the original schedule. 2015 5A SOUTH REGIONAL WRESTLING TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS: Wayne Mehrer-Clover Hill H S, Drew Bright-Douglas Freeman H S, Chris Rollison- Hermitage HS DATES: Friday & Saturday February 13 & 14 LOCATION: Clover Hill H S 13301 Kelly Green Lane, Midlothian PARTICIPANTS: Each of the four Conferences will enter 4 wrestlers per weight class. If a qualifier is not able to participate the Conference may substitute its 5th or 6th place wrestler from the Conference Tournament. If a Conference is unable to fill its 4 wrestler quota then the Tournament Director will, by predetermined draw, fill out the bracket from the other 3 Conference?s. Brackets will be drawn on Sunday, February 8th. Conferences will not be paired in the same weight classes as last year?s tournament. SCRATCHES: ALL scratches must be reported to the tournament director. The tournament director will then contact the school/coach of the alternate wrestler for that weight. Scratches and replacements may be made up to 4:00 pm on Thursday, Feb. 12. After that time scratches will be reported as forfeits and there will be NO replacement on the bracket. SCHEDULE: FRIDAY: 12:00-Schools arrive at Clover Hill H S. DO NOT arrive earlier than 12:00. You will not be admitted to the building before 12:00 1:00pm Weigh-ins scratch + 2 lbs. 1:00 Coach`s Meeting 3:00 1st Round of championship wrestling 6:00 1st round of consolation wrestling 7:30 break for officials and tournament workers 8:00 quarter finals of championship wrestling SAT: 8:00am Building is open 9:00 2nd day weigh-ins scratch + 3 lbs 11:00 2nd round consolations 1:00pm Championship semi-finals and 3rd round consolations 3:00 Consolation semi-finals 4:00 5th place matches & 3rd place matches after these matches the gym will be cleared. The gym will reopen at 6:00 pm 6:00 pm Championship finals TICKETS: All session pass $20.00 Friday only $10.00 Sat. morning $8.00 Sat. night $8.00 STATE QUALIFIERS: 5A South will qualify 4 wrestlers per weight class to the 5A State Tournament the weekend of Feb. 20 & 21 at Robinson H S. All teams that have wrestlers in the state tournament or alternates MUST fill out a state entry from and turn it in to the regional director before leaving the regional tournament site. AWARDS: Medals will be awarded to places 1 - 6 in each of the 14 weight classes. Trophies will be presented to the Championship team and the Runner-up team. PASSES: Each school will receive a tournament pass for each qualified wrestler and an additional 5 passes for coaches and/or managers. If schools need additional passes they will have to pay the tournament rate of $20.00 per pass. Please do not put the tournament staff in the position of having to tell non-wrestlers or additional coaches they do not get a free pass. This tournament must keep costs at a minimum.
