Inter-Academic Athletic League Middle School Wrestling Championships Wednesday, February 13, 2019 Participating Schools: The Episcopal Academy Germantown Academy The Haverford School Malvern Preparatory School Springside Chestnut Hill Academy William Penn Charter School Tournament Schedule: *Wrestlers` weights will be on the Honor System 1:15 pm Brief Coaches? Meeting, Team Warm-Ups 2:00 pm First Whistle (Wrestling Begins) Awards: Ribbons will be presented to the top four finishers in each weight class. All awards, standings, and scores will be on an individual basis only. Rules: Weight Classes: Modified Madison System. Wrestlers will be grouped, by actual weight as submitted by coaches, into brackets of no less than 2 and no more than 8. Rules: National Federation; double-elimination tournament. Scoring: Same as varsity matches Periods: 3 one-and-a-half minute (1:30) periods. Overtime is one 1-minute sudden victory period, then, if needed, two 30-second ride-outs, then if needed, one 30 second ultimate ride-out. Eligibility: 6th, 7th and 8th grades. If any wrestler competed in a Varsity or JV I.A.A.L. wrestling meet he is ineligible to participate. Each school can enter an unlimited number of wrestlers per weight class. Seeding: Top 2 wrestlers, based on this season`s Inter-Ac record and overall record, will be placed in opposite brackets. All other wrestlers and byes will be placed by blind draw. Deadlines: WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 6: Complete the attached spreadsheet and E-mail your preliminary lineup, including weights, grade, experience, Inter-Ac record and overall record with seeding information to Solomon Fleckman (Solomon.Fleckman@germantownacademy.org) by 3 pm. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11: Confirm lineup via email by 3 pm. Substitutions can be made but may not be seeded.
