WIAA SECTIONAL WRESTLING TOURNAMENT ***** ALL WRESTLERS WILL RECEIVE A ONE POUND WEIGHT ALLOWANCE DUE TO A NUMBER OF SCHOOLS CLOSINGS. WRESTLERS CAN BE FOUR(4) POUNDS OVER SCRATCH***** TOURNAMENT SITE: Osseo-Fairchild High School, Osseo, WI TOURNAMENT DATE: Saturday, February 22, 2014 PROGRAMS Generation 3 will be publishing the programs. PARTICIPANTS: Cumberland, Independence, Chequamegon, and Spring Valley/Elmwood Regional teams. PARKING: Teams buses can unload at the main entrance of Osseo-Fairchild High School and then park in the adjacent lot. WEIGH - IN: 9:00 A.M. Weigh-ins will be held in the wrestling room of Osseo-Fairchild High School. LOCKER ROOMS: Will be assigned by regional groupings upon arrival. COACHES MEETING: Will be held in the Hospitality room at 9:30 A.M. FREE ADMISSIONS: As outlined in the season regulation handbook. a) Wrestlers competing b) One manager c) Head and assistant coach d) Cheerleaders in uniform up to six e) No more than two additional admissions without charge (must sign in). f) Please make provisions for your bus driver and Cheerleader advisor to purchase tickets. OFFICIALS: Chad Olson (Head) – Cumberland Dave Black – River Falls Chuck Walek – Independence Jon Hile - Cumberland TICKETS: There will be NO ADVANCE SALE OF TICKETS. Tickets may be purchased at the main entrance; sales will begin at 9:00 A.M. and continue throughout the day. Please notify your local media of starting times. TICKET PRICES: All Tickets - Child/Student/Adult All Sessions $8.00 Second Session $6.00 Finals $5.00 Children Under 6 $1.00 NO PERSONAL CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED. We will accept checks from schools and wrestling clubs. SMOKING: There is no smoking allowed in the facility or on the facility grounds. CHEERLEADERS’ HOSPITALITY ROOM: A room will be provided for cheerleaders and advisors only. PROGRAM INFORMATION: Please send team information to Generation 3 Media. They should be contacting you. TOWELS: Towels will NOT be furnished. It will be the responsibility of all schools to bring their own towels. Schools are responsible for their own valuables. Please no glass in the field house or locker room areas. BANNERS: Banners and noisemakers will be prohibited at all levels of competition. WRESTLING: 1) Quarterfinals will start at 10:00 (3 mats). 2) Round 2 (Semifinals and first round of wrestle backs will start approximately fifteen minutes after the first Session. (3 mats). 3) Finals will start approximately fifteen minutes after round 2 (2 mats). Championship and third-fourth place will be run at the same time,alternating mats. Wrestle back for true 2nd will follow the finals. 4) All contestants must be available to wrestle when called--wrestlers must report within 5 minutes of being called. 5) Only three (3) people may accompany a participant inside the roped area. 6) Contestants and coaches are requested to keep away from the head table during the match. 7) Coaches are required to keep their cheerleaders out of the mat area. 8) Only media with proper credentials will be allowed inside the roped area. Parents/spectators must photograph/video from the stands. 8) Warm-up mats will be placed in the wrestling practice room. This is for wrestlers and coaches only. AWARDS: Following the completion of the tournament, sectional medals will be presented to the champion, runner-up and 3rd place finisher. TELEPHONES Telephone service will be provided if we are contacted in advance. Other INTERNET ACCESS: telephone service on an emergency basis may be secured by contacting the tournament manager. Wireless internet access will be available. HOSPITALITY ROOM: Will be located on the second level of the school. This is for coaches, workers, and officials only. Please make arrangements for bus drivers and significant others to eat elsewhere. CONCESSIONS: Located in the lobby area. NO beverages except water are allowed in the gymnasium. Coolers and thermos bottles should be kept in the locker room. THEY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE GYMNASIUM. LODGING: Hotels are available in Osseo and Eau Claire is 25 miles to the north. Please take care of your own lodging needs. COMMENTS: This is a great facility to host a sectional tournament. If we wish to have the opportunity to use this facility in the future, we ask that you be very gracious to Andy Jepson, A.D. at Osseo-Fairchild High School, and stress to your athletes, cheerleaders, coaches, and fans to treat the facility with respect.
