Chase Singletary Commits To Ohio State
It’s been a great two days of recruiting for Tom Ryan and Ohio State. Yesterday, three-time Ohio champ Kaleb Romero committed to wrestle for Ohio State.
Today, #1 Chase Singletary informed Ohio State he’d be heading to Columbus as well.
The top ranked 220 in the country chose Ohio State over Cornell and UNC. He is the highest ranked wrestler to commit since Spencer Lee verballed to Iowa this Spring. Singletary is the #5 overall recruit for the class of 2017 (Check out Senior Big Board Here).
“There is a lot of big stuff happening at Ohio State,” Singletary said. “And I want to be a part of it.”
For Ohio State, Chase coming on board is perfect timing. Kyle Snyder has two more years for Ohio State. This allows Chase to take a redshirt year, bulk up to 285, then take the reins once Kyle graduates.
Singletary, a Florida native, is complete in all aspects. For his frame, he moves well and can attack legs. On top could be what separates Chase even more. There are not many elite top wrestlers at 285, and Singletary is dangerous.
