Four-man brackets have become a Who's Number One tradition for particularly deep weight classes. This year, 160 lbs fits the bill. North Carolina product Joe Sealey is the top recruit in the class of 2024, but he's third in this weight. His first match will be against Nicco Ruiz, a Monster Garage guy who has beaten him twice in the last year including in the Super 32 finals. Josh Barr and Rocco Welsh met in one of this year's most highly anticipated Fargo finals, and the action did not disappoint. Barr took a 1-0 lead after a calculated first period in which the only point came via activity clock. Rocco Welsh scored five straight points to take a 5-1 lead before Barr earned a takedown halfway through the second period. With 30 seconds left, the two had an incredible sequence that resulted in a Barr takedown and turn plus an additional step-out point. On the evening of May 1st, Jax Forrest and Nate Jesuroga stared at the South Point jumbotron while they waited on the results of a challenge to determine which one of them would represent Team USA at the U17 World Championships in Rome. The top two guys at 182 pounds in the soon-to-be-released post-Fargo rankings are both new to this weight class. Brayden Thompson has been competing at 170 lbs since last year when he made his Who’s Number One debut. Since that time, he has stood out as one of the top recruits in the class of 2023 by qualifying for the U20 World Team, finishing 6th at the Senior US Open, and winning a loaded Powerade bracket at 172 lbs. Thompson will compete in the U20 World Championships later this month.
