Coaches,
The following information concerns all Area qualifiers for the Carolina Invitational.  The format of the tournament is full double elimination using 16 man brackets and placing six wrestlers who will advance on to the Sectional tournament.  Tournament Directors will have the option of splitting weight classes based on the size of the bracket.  If a weight is split, the top 3 finishers from each bracket will move on to the Sectional tournament.

The weight classes for these events are as follows:
  • JV – 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220 and 285
  • MS – 80, 88, 96, 102, 108, 114, 120, 126, 135, 145, 158, 175, 205 and 285
*** 2 pound weight allowance applies after January 1, 2019. (e.g. 80 will be 82, 88 will be 90, etc)

All registration for this event will be handled through an online registration.  Registrations will need to be completed by midnight on the Wednesday prior to the event.  Scratches and changes after registration is closed will need to be emailed to Marquise Camp (mcamp@dorchester2.k12.sc.us) and Todd Polly (wrestlingislife1@att.net).  Cutoff for these scratches will be Thursday at noon for JV and Friday at noon for MS.

  • Keep in mind that a Varsity wrestler is only allowed 16 dates.  There should be no Varsity level wrestlers competing in the qualifying tournament regardless of grade.
  • MS and JV wrestlers are considered different teams.

Schools:  Ashley Ridge, Cane Bay, Goose Creek, James Island, Stratford, Wando, West Ashley, Berkeley, Hanahan, Stall, Academic Magnet, Bishop England, Garrett, North Charleston, Timberland, Military Magnet, St. Johns, Bamberg Ehrhardt
 
Tournament Info:  
  • Weigh-In Time:  4pm  Friday ( JV ONLY)  7:30 am ( Middle School )
  • Start Time:  5 pm Friday  ( JV ONLY )    9 am  Saturday ( Middle School ) 
  • Entry fee: $10 per wrestler
  • Checks payable to:  AR Tech-Fall Club 
** Please keep coolers and all food in the cafeteria area.  We will have them set up for you upon arrival. Wrestlers and spectators will only be allowed in the cafeteria and athletic wings. If any wrestler is caught out of that area he/she will be removed from the tournament.  NO EXCEPTIONS on this rule. This tournament will be ran efficient and smooth.
