ELIGIBILITY: All residents from Northampton, Monroe, Carbon, Lehigh, and Schuylkill counties will need to qualify to the State tournament by placing in the top 2 of this tournament (boys division 12 & Under), top 1 of this tournament (ALL Girls Divisions) and top 3 of this tournament (Jr High Boys Only).  You can compete in this tournament ONLY if you LIVE in these counties.Only wrestlers enrolled in 7th, 8th or 9th grade that are eligible to compete as Middle School or Junior High School Wrestlers may participate. Home schooled, private and parochial school wrestlers are eligible provided they meet the PIAA requirements set forth for Middle School or Junior High School competition. Any wresters who are listed on a High School roster are not eligible. (12 year old 7th graders can compete in either the youth or the JHS championship not both)
 
AGE EFFECTIVE DATE: A wrestler's age group classification is determined by his/her age on December 31, 2019.
EXAMPLE: A wrestler’s 11th birthday is 1/1/2020. That wrestler competes in the 9-10 division.
 
FORMAT: 

• Double elimination (with true second) with awards for the top three finishers in each weight class (12 & Under boys divisions).
• Double elimination  with awards for the top three finishers in each weight class. (All Girls Divisions & Jr High)

 RULES AND REGULATIONS

• Participants may only compete in one weight class/division. 
• There is no weight allowance. 
• PJW, National Federation and PIAA rules will govern all matches except as follows: 
  • All bouts in the championship bracket will consist of three periods of 1 ½- 1 ½- 1 ½    Jr High Boys & Girls Divisions
  • All bouts in the championship bracket will consist of three periods of 2 - 1 - 1    ALL 12 & Under Divisions
  • All Consolation matches will consist of three periods of 1-1-1
  • Overtime to be 1-30-30-30 ride out (1^st point gets choice)
• HEADGEAR IS REQUIRED IN ALL PJW TOURNAMENTS
• Mouth Guards are required for participants with braces.
• CHALLENGE RULE - Challenger and Challenged must provide proof of age/grade. If challenging eligibility the challenge must be made with documented proof prior to competing. Challenges made after competition will not be heard.

Those who qualify are required to purchase a State Championship Area XIV Singlet.  These singlets and T-shirts will be yours to keep after the tournament and the will cost $80.00.  CASH ONLY.  These singlets and T-shirts must be worn at the State Championships.  ALSO—ALL QUALIFIERS MUST BRING A COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE for the PJW Committee.
