TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES-
WEIGH-INS: Participants may weigh-in by school. Must weigh-in in shorts, or suitable undergarment. Coaches must submit a weigh-in roster on trackwrestling for officials to record weights. The weight classes will be 70, 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 112, 119, 126, 133, 140, 148, 160, 185, 245.
ROSTERS:
Coaches may make changes to their line-up after weigh-ins. A wrestler may be written on the final line-up roster one (1) weight class above the class he weighs in at. Please note that he will be locked into that weight for all duals throughout the day. All teams are required to take there whole team, not a select 17.
RANKING:
Where two or more wrestlers represent a weight class, coaches must rank them by ability, one (1) being the best wrestler. When one (1) wrestler represents a weight class, he automatically will be ranked number one (1) on his team`s roster. The only movement that may occur from the final roster is a wrestler moving up in ranking within the same weight class. You can not move down a ranking. Other than that one exception, all match-ups will be created from the final rosters submitted after weigh-in.
MATCH PROCEDURE:
Three one-minute periods, high school over time rules. Officials will flip for choice to start second period prior to the start of each dual.
DUAL SCORING:
Same as high school. In case of a tie, National Federation tiebreaker criteria will be applied. A team will forfeit 6 points to the opponent if it does not have representation at the number one (1) spot for each weight class (due to injury or otherwise). In other words, a team that has at least one wrestler at all 17 classes, will not have to forfeit. EXAMPLE: Team `A` will not be penalized by forfeits if it only has one (1) wrestler entered at a particular weight, and Team `B` has three (3) at the same weight. In this case, the number 1`s will match-up, and this will be the only match at that weight applied toward the team score. (Note: Team B could move its 2 or 3 up in ranking to get that match).
Where match-ups are made by tournament management involving number 2`s or number 3`s within the same weight, these matches will factor in to the team score, and a wrestler who fails to present to the mat when called upon, will forfeit 6 points to the opponents team score. The exception would be in the event of an injury. If there is any disaplinary actions taken that a wrestler is no longer aloud to wrestle do to a ref`s decision or his coach, you will forfeit that weight the entire day. A wrestler who does not report for his match due to an injury, will not forfeit 6 points to the opponent, and he will be scratched from the tournament for the remainder of the day.
PHILOSOPHY:
The format for this tournament was created with the following goals in mind:
Friendly, fun, and good competition.
Experience for as many young wrestlers possible in a team-oriented dual atmosphere.
