CENTURY HIGH SCHOOL 1st Annual – Century Invitational Individual Bracket Wrestling Tournament Saturday, January 5th, 2008 9:00am October 12th, 2007 Wrestling Coaches and Athletic Directors, We are excited to host our 1st Annual Century Wrestling Invitational. This is an individual bracket tournament. We are looking forward to your school participating in this year’s tournament. TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE The gym will be open at 6:30am with weigh-ins from 7:00am – 8:15am. You will receive a one-pound allowance because Century wrestles the night before. Coaches’ meeting at 8:45am The first round will start at 9:00am. Awards’ ceremony following competitions BRACKETING Bracketing will be done on Friday, January 4th. The brackets will be drawn up from the team entry forms prior to your arrival in order to facilitate time. If a wrestler does not make weight or is a no show, he will be scratched. The wrestler may be submitted at a higher weight class for one of your wrestlers, but they will not be seeded. In the event of a scratch, there will not be a reseeding of the bracket. You many bring extra wrestlers, however there is no guarantee they can be placed in a bracket. Your tournament entry forms must be faxed or emailed to Century High School (503) 848 – 1825 or welchk@hsd.k12.or.us no later than NOON Friday, January 4th. need all Varsity and JV wrestlers listed in the weight class so we can build the brackets. SEEDING Seeding will be done on Friday, January 4th. Criteria for seeding are as follows: 1) State place finishers (5A-6A) 2) District Champions 3) District Placers VERIFICATION You can contact Kris Welch at (503) 260 – 5517 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Friday, January 4th to confirm your roster. To avoid mistakes, please have your rosters entered online at trackwrestling.com by Thursday January 3rd and all seeding information entered by Friday January 4th. Please call to confirm that your roster has been received and make any changes. Failure to send in rosters will result in NO SEEDING. If we do not have your Varsity and JV names we can not start the tournament on time. FACILITIES The locker room and showers will be available; however participants must bring their own towels. Lockers will be available; however athletes are responsible for their own valuables. FEES The entry fee is $125. Please make checks payable to and mail: Century High School 2000 SE Century Blvd. Hillsboro, Oregon 97123 AWARDS The top 3 finishers in each weight class will receive a medal and 4th through 6th will receive a ribbon. We will have a team trophy for the 1st Place Team. Team points will be based on 2 points for advancement in winners’ bracket and 1 point advancement in the losers’ bracket. Teams will also receive point for pins (2 points) and 4 points for placing. Each school is allowed 2 wrestlers at each weight class to score towards team points. Information must be received by NOON January 4th. Please remember to call at (503) 260 – 5517 on January 4th between 1:00pm and 3:00pm to verify your roster, regardless of any changes. We are looking forward to a great tournament. ADMISSION CHARGES There will be an admission cost of $3 for adults and $1 for students. HOSPITALITY ROOM There will be a hospitality room, for your high school coaches’ and the officials working the tournament only. Please do not bring other people into the room.
