VARSITY WRESTLING TOURNAMENT Dear Athletic Director/Wrestling Coach, This is a reminder and confirmation request of interest in our Jr. Varsity wrestling tournament. Please fill out the following form and return it A.S.A.P. if your school would like to participate in this tournament. It will be held on Thursday, February 7, 2008 (After your conference tournament.) at Madison La Follette. We will compete in the Bartlett Fieldhouse, run eight mats and finish between 9:30-10:00. We will bracket the wrestlers ourselves after weigh ins using Trackwrestling. (info regarding entering your kids ahead of time on Trackwresting will follow later.) The following criteria will be used to bracket the wrestlers. 1) Grade will be considered first. 2) We will separate wrestlers from the same school whenever possible. We will not attempt to seed the wrestlers except by grade. All brackets will be 4-man round robin. **Because this tournament is held on a school night, please be prompt. The earlier we can get through weigh ins the earlier we can get started with the wrestling. *Last year we had approximately 250 wrestlers from OVER 20 schools. Wrestling started about 6:00 PM and was finished around 9:45 PM. Weigh Ins: 4:15-5:15 P.M. Wrestling Begins: 5:45-6:00 P.M. (Tentative) No Coaches Meeting Locker Room Facilities: Each team will be assigned a locker room. Lockers will be available; locks are the individual’s responsibility. Please leave valuables at home to prevent theft. La Follette will not be responsible for any loss or theft of property. Awards: Individual - 1st place medals. Entry Fee: 1-10 wrestlers =$65.00, 11-15= $85.00 and 16+ = $95.00 (Please bring your fee if possible) Concessions: The Lafollette Booster Club will be selling sandwiches, fruit, soda and much, more!
