ATTENTION: Principal, AD and Wrestling Coach

On Behalf of Basehor-Linwood High School, we welcome you to the the 11th Annual Bobcat Classic to be held on Friday, January 14, and Saturday, January 15, 2011. An outstanding group of teams has been assembled and our goal is to make the Bobcat Classic one of the premier tournaments in the region.

TOURNAMENT TEAMS: ACCHS (Effingham), Andale, Baldwin, Basehor-Linwood, Blue Valley, Bonner Springs, Chapman, Columbus, Eudora, Fort Scott, Glenwood, Goddard, Junction City, Lansing, Lawrence Free State, Mountain Range, Oak Park, Olathe North, Paola, Perry, Piper, Pittsburg, Rossville, Santa Fe Trail, Shawnee Mission East,Blue Springs, Olathe South, Thomas More Prep, Tonganoxie, Topeka Seaman, St. James, St. Thomas Aquinas, and Turner.

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

FRIDAY, JANUARY 14, 2011
7:00 am Weigh-in (please call if your are not weighing at home). All wrestlers will receive a one pound growth allowance for their initial weigh-in as several schools are wrestling Thursday, January 13. Wrestlers will receive an additional pound when they weigh in Friday night for Saturday’s wrestling.

SEEDING MEETING: The seeding meeting will be held at 8:30 am Friday morning in our Virtual school (room # 131). Breakfast will be served at that time.

SESSION 1:
Friday’s session will be wrestled on four mats in the main gym and two mats in the small gym.

• Championship 1st round
• Championship qt. finals
• Consolation 1st round
• Consolation 2nd round

SESSION 2:
45 Minutes after the conclusion of Session 1

• Semi final round
• Consolation 3rd round

SATURDAY, JANUARY 15, 2011

SESSION 3: Saturday’s session will be wrestled on four mats until the championship finals which will be wrestled on one mat.
10:00 am

• Consolation cross-bracketing
• Consolation quarter finals

SESSION 4:
45 Minutes after the conclusion of Session 3

• Medal round Consolation finals (7th & 8th)
• Consolation finals (3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th)
• 5:00 pm Championship finals (one mat)

Times are approximate. We will work at staying to this schedule as much as possible.

HOSPITALITY: This will be located in the FACS ( room # 216) for administrators, coaches, officials and tournament workers only.

PARKING: This will be located on the South and North sides of the building. Please park buses in the very back end of the South parking lot.

ROSTERS: The coaches will fill out their rosters on line. They will receive an e-mail giving them their user name and password along with the web site address. E-mail Vicky Herbster at VHerbster@usd458.org for questions. DO NOT ENTER WRESTLERS AS OPEN. SIMPLY LEAVE OFF ANY WEIGHT CLASS THAT YOU ARE NOT FILLING AS BLANK. ENTRY FEES: $100.00 per team. Please send with your roster or bring to tournament.

ADMISSION: Adults--$5.00 for all day NO PASSES ACCEPTED Students--$4.00 for all day (grades 1-12)

AWARDS: Individual medals for the first 8 places in each weight class. Trophies for the top four teams. Most Valuable Wrestler Award. Team medals will go to members of the top four teams.

CONCESSIONS: We will be running a full concession stand during the tournament. Please. No food or drinks in the gymnasium. Coaches, wrestlers, and officials will be allowed to bring in spill proof containers of water only.

LOCKER ROOMS: Locker rooms will be assigned. Please bring your own towels. We will not be responsible for valuables. Please instruct your wrestlers not to leave valuables in the locker room.
