2010 KANSAS KIDS DISTRICT 1 CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT DATE: March 20, 2009 SITE: Kansas Expocentre, Topeka, KS HOST CLUB: Jr. Viking, Jackson County, and Silver Lake Wrestling Club ENTRY FEE: $20.00 per Wrestler (Non-Refundable) Make checks payable to USAWA District 1 ADMISSION: $3.00 for adults $2.00 for students (U4 Free) PARKING: Friday Free (tell attendant you are there to “weigh in for wrestling) Saturday $5 per vehicle ENTRY FORMS: We will be utilizing www.trackwrestling.com. Entries will flow from the top four placers at the SubDistrict tournament; seeding will match N1vsS4, N3vsS2, N2vsS3 and N4vsS1. Club directors must sign up and pay entry fees for the wrestlers that move on to the State tournament. Awards presentation and registration for the State tournament will take place in the SW concourse above the arena. RULES: All wrestlers must have a current USAW card. All wrestlers will follow all rules for USAW Kansas Kids Sanctioned Tournaments. Club directors will be held responsible for the actions of all their wrestlers, coaches and parents. Fingernails will be checked at weigh-in. As in the past, the hair rule is that it must be contained in some type of skull cap if it does not meet the criteria by the high school rule book. No wrestler will be permitted to wrestle with ANY type of communicable skin disease. Each club should have a physical status of skin form, which must be filled out by a physician and dated within the last six days along with a note from a doctors note pad signed. MEDALS: Medals will be awarded to top 4 placers. Awards presentation and registration for the State tournament will take place in the SW concourse above the arena. In some instances when one of the top four participants are unable or unwilling to move on the next highest place winners will be notified and an opportunity to wrestle off for the vacated qualifying position will present itself. If YOU ARE A QUALIFIER AND KNOW IN ADANCE THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WRESTLE AT THE STATE TOURNAMENT, PLEASE LET US KNOW PRIOR TO THE CONCLUSION OF WRESTLING ON SATURDAY SO THAT A WRESTLE OFF CAN OCCUR ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT. WEIGH-IN: Friday Night 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Saturday 6:30am - 7:30 am ATHLETES SHOULD ENTER AT THE HANDICAPPED ENTRANCE AT THE SOUTH END OF LANDON ARENA FOR WEIGH INS BOTH SATURDAY NIGHT AND SUNDAY MORNING. COACHES MEETING: 8:00 am Saturday morning WRESTLING STARTS: 9:00 AM NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE ARENA FLOOR WITH OUT A COACHES BAND. COACHES CAN GET BANDS DURING WEIGH INS ON SATURDAY NIGHT OR AT THE AWARDS / STATE REGISTRATION AREA IN THE SW CONCORSE ABOVE THE ARENA ON SATURDAY. YOU MUST HAVE A 2010 USAWA COACHES CARD, BRONZE CARD, AND PROPER IDENTIFICATION TO RECEIVE A BAND. COPPER CARDS ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE. IF YOU HAVE NOT RECEIVED YOUR CARD BY MAIL, WE WILL HAVE UP TO DATE LISTS OF COACHES WHO TOOK THE BRONZE COURSE DURING THE 2009/10 SEASON. IF YOUR NAME IS NOT ON THE LIST AND YOU DON’T HAVE THE CARD YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN A COACHES BAND…NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. Please make sure you tell your Parents.
