5th Annual Shawnee Mission Middle School Wrestling Duals Hosted by Trailridge/Shawnee Mission Northwest 2:00 pm November 9, 2018 Location: Shawnee Mission Northwest Main Gymnasium The order of duals: (second team is the home team) Round Mat 1 Mat 2 Bye Rd 1 IH vs HG WR vs TR Indian Woods Rd 2 IW vs IH TR vs HG Westridge Rd 3 HG vs IW IH vs WR Trailridge Rd 4 HG vs WR IW vs TR Indian Hills Rd 5 TR vs IH WR vs IW Hocker Grove Scoring: Team with the highest dual record wins. If there is a tie, the head to head match will decide the winner. If there is a three-way tie, total team points will determine the final outcome. Medals: A first and second place medal will be awarded to the winners of each weight class. A traveling trophy will be awarded to the first place overall team. The trophy & medals will be presented at the end of the meet. Roster: Rosters are due by 3pm on Thursday, November 8th on Track Wrestling or it will lock you out. Please remember to include all wrestlers that may participate in the event. Rosters will also be emailed to Leah Cogswell, leahcogswell@smsd.org and Howard Newcomb nwnewcom@smsd.org Hospitality: We will not have a dinner break, but a hospitality room with food for coaches, administrators, and officials will be provided. Weigh-in: Weigh wrestlers in Thursday afternoon, after practice, and bring forms to SMNW day of duals for the competition. Weight classes: 75, 80, 85, 90, 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 127, 134, 141, 148, 155, 165, 180, 215, 265. Matches: Will consist of 3 periods 1st period 1.30, 2nd period 1.30, 3rd period 1.30 Concessions: A concession stand will be provided. The team whose opposing wrestlers or team personnel has been penalized the greater number of team points for flagrant misconduct or unsportsmanlike conduct shall be declared the winner. b. The team whose HEAD COACH has been penalized the (least) number of team points FOR COACH MISCONDUCT shall be declared the winner. c. The team whose opposing wrestlers were penalized the greater number of match points for unsportsmanlike conduct during a match shall be declared the winner. d. The team having won the greater number of matches (including forfeits) shall be declared the winner. e. The team having accumulated the greater number of falls, defaults, forfeits and DQ?s shall be declared the winner. f. The team having the greater number of technical falls shall be declared the winner. g. The team having the greater number of major decisions shall be declared the winner. h. The team having the greater number of (total match points) of first points scored shall be declared the winner. i. The team having the greater number of points for near-falls shall be declared the winner. j. The team having the greater number of takedowns shall be declared the winner. k. The team having the greater number of reversals shall be declared the winner. l. The team having the greater number of escapes shall be declared the winner. m. The team whose opponent has been penalized the greater number of points for stalling shall be declared the winner. n. The team whose opponent has been warned more often for stalling shall be declared the winner. o. The team whose opponent has the greater number of penalties for all other infractions (i.e. false starts) p. If none of the above resolves the tie, a flip of the disk will determine the winner. Upon determining the winning team by use of the tie-breaking system, a single team point shall be added to the prevailing team. The method of recording the score in breaking team ties shall be the score followed by the letter of the criterion that broke the tie (e.g. Team A 16; Team B 17, e) Individual Placing for Middle School Dual: 1. Coach determines which weight the wrestler will compete for medal contention. Must be written on the weight in form that the coach turns in the day of the dual. 2. The wrestler with the most wins, will be awarded the first place medal. 3. If a two-way tie, Head to Head Winner. If there was not a head to head, then most wins by wrestler (Forfeit will not be considered a win. 4. 3-4 way tie, all criteria from same weight class. ? Most Falls ? Most T-Falls ?
