West Anchorage Christmas Classic December 20th -21st Thursday, December 19th Coaches seeding meeting (Room 47) 7:00pm Friday, December 20th Weigh-ins (98=99) 8:00am Wrestling starts 9:30am Saturday, December 21st Weigh in (98=100) 8:00am Wrestling Begins 9:30pm Championship Finals 5:30pm Tournament Format: The West Anchorage Chrsitmas Classic has slowly grown to be one of the largest tournaments in the state. We will be trying to get as many wrestlers into the tournament as possible, but there will only be one scorer for each team in the tournament. We will be using a 32 man bracket to accommodate all wrestlers, but any wrestler who is eliminated will be entered into our secondary tournament. It is our goal to ensure that each wrestler will get 4 matches (if not more). Changes will be accepted at the coaches meeting and you will need to designate your scoring wrestler in each weight class. We will seed up to six wrestlers per weigh class; the remaining wrestlers will be drawn in. Awards: We have special awards for the first through fifth place wrestlers, as well as outstanding wrestler and first through third place team. Entry Fees: Due to the popularity of the tournament (and how many matches we ran last year), we have to raise our price from where we were last year. We ended up losing money on the tournament after paying for the refs, so the new entry fee for the tournament is $350.00 and it must be paid prior to participation. Checks can be made out to West High School. Teams with 10 or fewer wrestlers can be entered for $250. Rosters: Rosters are due on or before Wednesday, December 18th at noon on trackwrestling.
