Carolina Invitational Middle School/JV Qualifier - Area 8 Hosted by: Stratford High School 951 Crowfield Blvd. Goose Creek, SC 29445 Area 8 Counties: Charleston, Berkeley 6 qualifiers advance to Coastal Sectional High Schools (19 schools): Baptist Hill, Burke, Cane Bay, Cross, Goose Creek, James Island, Stratford, Wando, West Ashley, Berkeley, Hanahan, Stall, Academic Magnet, Bishop England, Garrett, North Charleston, Timberland, Military Magnet, St. Johns, Bamb-E Areas 8 and 9 combine to form `THE COASTAL` sectional tournament with 12 man brackets. Coastal Sectional will be held on January 17th at Hilton Head High School and will send 3 wrestlers per weight to the Carolina Invitational. Tournament Details: - Entry Deadline: Wednesday, December 6th, 8:00 PM - No late entries will be accepted - NO EXCEPTIONS. - Cost: $10 per entry (This includes scratches & missed weights) - Make checks payable to: Stratford High School - Payment due at weigh-ins. Tournament Format: Double Elimination with WB to 6th. Tournament will be run on 4 mats. Eligibility: Grades 7 - 10 and certified by SCHSL *** January 1st all weight classes increase 2 lbs. for the SCHSL Growth Allowance *** Divisions: Middle School (7-8) 80,86,92,98,104,110,117,124,131,138,146,154,162,170,185,210,285 JV (9-10) 106,113,120,126,132,138,145,152,160,170,182,195,220,285 We will seed this tournament based on the following criteria: - Each current season win = +2pts - Each current season loss = -1pts Plus (1) of the following: - Carolina Invitational Qualifier last year = +10pts - Carolina Invitational Placer last year = +15pts - Carolina Invitational Champion last year = +20pts Please enter this information for each wrestler. Weigh-Ins: 7:00 am - 8:30 am Match Times: MS & JV: 1.5 - 1.5 - 1.5 Coaches meeting 8:30 am Wrestling Starts 9:00 am Awards: Not Permitted for Qualifiers per SCHSL. Keep in mind that a varsity wrestler is only allowed 16 dates. There should be no varsity level wrestlers competing in the qualifying tournaments. Changes in the tournament will only be made if we made the mistake. Registration Process: - Registrations will be done online ONLY.
