National Anthem. Wrestlers lined up at the edge of the mats. We will start wrestling as soon as possible after that. --Breaks ? - We may have occasional 15 minute breaks to reset wrestling and to get Officials and Volunteers Breaks. 2:30 PM ? Approximate Finish Time/Team Awards. Since we are hosting a tournament during Covid-19, we will NOT be weighing the teams in on site at the tournament. Below is a roster/weigh-in sheet. You can use this sheet at weigh-ins. After weigh-ins, please rate each wrestler Excellent, Good, Average and Beginner. I would ask you to mark ?Excellent? those wrestlers that you feel will compete for the top two spots in a bracket of 8 wrestlers. We will try to separate them as much as possible. ?Good? is for quality wrestlers, probably with a winning record. ?Average? for most other wrestlers. ?Beginner? for very new wrestlers or those who really struggle to win a match. You make changes later or email them to me. Wrestlers should still be within two pounds of their weigh-in weight on Saturday Morning. As of this morning(1/5/22), we have about 200 expected wrestlers. With the help of my coaches and volunteers, we will create brackets of 8 wrestlers starting in the middle weights. I will work to separate the top wrestlers both within and among the brackets so the the top wrestlers will have the opportunity to go for a Championship. My goal is to get each kid two or three matches (there may be byes). As we get to weights where there are not 8 wrestlers, we will create 4 wrestler round robin brackets. Wrestlers should wrestle most, if not all, their matches on the same mat. We will be running four mats. I have small trophies for places 1-3 in each bracket. Remember that this is a tournament for mainly 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Younger wrestlers are fine, but be sure they can handle it! Please do not bring 7th or 8th grade wrestlers who have wrestled with your varsity team. (No 9th graders!) Headgear will be required. Shoelaces will need to be covered. Please be on time for the Coaches Meeting at Coon Rapids High School Field House at 8:00 AM. Wrestling begins at 9 AM with wrestlers lined up at the edges of the mats for the Star Spangled Banner. You can bring your Team entry fee of $150.00 with you the day of the tourney or mail it to me at home. Checks should be made out to Coon Rapids Mat Bandits Wrestling Club. We have a hospitality room for coaches. Box lunches with extras. (Water, coffee, fruit, donuts) There is a Concession Stand for the fans. Admission will be $5.00 for adults with 12 and under free.
